Notice of Public Comment Period and Public Hearing
The City of Bentonville has drafted the 2026 Annual Action Plan for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and is accepting public comment through July 15, 2026.
The CDBG program is intended to benefit low-to-moderate income residents of Bentonville. As part of an overarching five-year CDBG plan, the City prepares yearly Action Plans laying out community priorities and planned projects to benefit low-to-moderate income residents, as well as a budget for each project. The City of Bentonville has received an allocation of $291,148 for the 2026 Program Year. The main priorities for this funding include public improvements in low-income areas and supporting public services.
The full plan can be found online on the city’s website at www.bentonvillear.com by searching “2026 Annual Action Plan.” The plan is also available for viewing at the Bentonville Municipal Complex at 3200 SW Municipal Drive 2nd floor and the Bentonville Public Library, 405 S Main Street.
The 30-day public comment period is Monday, June 15, 2026 – Wednesday, July 15,2026. Comments may be submitted by email to skerr@bentonvillear.com or by phone at (479) 271-3122.
A public hearing will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 pm in the Council Chambers in City Hall, located at 305 SW A Street, Bentonville. This is an opportunity for residents and community organizations to provide in-person feedback on the selected projects, funding allocations and priorities reflected in the 2026 Annual Action Plan. All interested parties wishing to be heard on this matter are urged and notified to attend.
