The City of Batesville requests Statements of Qualifications from interested and qualified Planning Consultants. The selection of a Planning Consultant to provide these services will be made in accordance with the policies and administrative directive of The City of Batesville and applicable statutory provisions.
Qualifications:
* Knowledge of State statutes pertaining to municipal planning
* Minimum of 5 years experience in urban planning at least some of which is with medium sized communities of less than 20,000 population; extra consideration given to having achieved certification in the American Institute of Certified Planners
* Experience in mapping software, including ArcGIS and AutoCad, and particularly in preparing and updating zoning district maps and other uses as needed
* Evaluating rezoning, subdivision platting, and development projects
* Experience in providing training to planning commissioners, city staff, and council members
* Experience in recommending and drafting appropriate revisions to zoning and land development regulations
* Willingness and ability to help staff and commissioners to follow city ordinances, state statutes, and commission/board of adjustment bylaws
* Experience in drafting implementing ordinances and resolutions and knowing which to apply
* Assist with drafting of minutes
* Assurance of consistent representative and contact person
