Notice of Proposed Rulemaking and Public Hearing
The Arkansas Tax Appeals Commission is proposing amendments to its Rules of Procedure to (1) update the Rules to implement the streamlined proceeding process for small claims case appeals authorized by Act 617 of 2025; (2) remove the restriction regarding Power of Attorney forms; and (3) make other revisions to increase fairness, efficiency, and effectiveness.
A copy of the proposed amendments may be obtained either by calling the Commission at 501-682-2741 or emailing TACRulemaking@arkansas.filevineapp.com. A copy can also be accessed on the Commission’s website at https://ig.arkansas.gov/tax-appeals-commission/tax-appeals-commission-meetings-and-rulemaking-2/ or the Secretary of State’s website, listed under the Department of Inspector General at https://sos-rules-reg.ark.org/rules/search.
The Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the 4th Floor Board Room, 900 West Capitol Avenue, Suite 400, Little Rock, Arkansas 72201. All interested persons are encouraged to attend and provide comments, orally or in writing, on the proposed amendments. Alternatively, contact the Commission for login information to attend via videoconference.
Written comments will be accepted through Thursday, November 5, 2026, until 5:00 p.m. by emailing TACPublicMeetings@arkansas.filevineapp.com (preferred) or delivery to the Commission at 900 West Capitol Avenue, Suite 310, Little Rock, AR 72201.
